Coalition Troops Give Services And Supplies To CLC And Iraqi Troops
Medical services have been non-existent in Maderiyah following the fall of Saddam Hussein. The only medical help available has been when Coalition forces have been in the area.
That is all changing. A joint effort has led to the re opening of a large medical facility in Maderiyah that will serve the whole area and provide a base for good quality health care.
Maderiyah has been a difficult place to police. It was a terrorist and insurgent stronghold that resisted efforts previously to locate and root out the terrorists. But with the slow growth of trust, citizens now are motivated to share information and provide tips when people intending evils come to town.
“I am excited, this is wonderful, you have no idea what this means to each of our citizens, and to our people,†said Saadin San Ali.  Ali is an active and upbeat member of the CLC group that is based in Maderiyah
Until the opening of the clinic there was no active treatment center accessible to citizens. The lions share of the supplies, planning and coordination for this project was done by 3rd Infantry, 4th Brigade Combat team Civil Affairs group.
Army Captain Ken Guglielmina is Commander of the Civil Affairs Squadron that worked on the project. “In a project like this, as the people see things happen and good things occur, then they all get a wonderful outlook on life,†said Captain Guglielmina.
The new clinic will have hours available two days a week. Caregivers will be Iraqi Citizens trained by Coalition troops, and have access to Coalition doctors in an emergency.
