Jobs In Navy PersonnelAny organization tracks and manages people, and the United States Navy is no exception.  Working in personnel in the Navy gives a person a lot of job skills that are directly transferable to the civilian world after they get out of the Navy.  People who choose Naval Personnel as their job choice help organize and manage the lives of more than three hundred eighty thousand sailors, airmen and soldiers.  A person who is involved with Navy Personnel can give personal career and education counseling, brief legal assistance and referral, managing and organizing various administrative duties, keep detailed records, and other personnel management duties.

In the Navy, its people are priority one.  Making certain that the needs of its people is primary for the Navy to be able to do its mission.  If you are a team player, and enjoy working with details and helping people with various paperwork, then this job may be for you.  Enlisted people who choose Naval Personnel as their job selection may be involved in:
-Operate and maintain legal, personnel, and administrative records.
-Address and write official reports, letters and various types of correspondence.
-Operate audio recording and duplicating machines, and word processors.
-Operate various office related equipment.
-Use, maintain and operate computers, personal computers, PDA devices and telephones.
-Process Appeals.
-Interview sailors and administer tests by direction.
-Manage and operate ministry facilities on shore, aboard ship, and overseas.
-Issue work orders and inspection requests.
-Assist Sailors with clerical, administrative and family hardships or special issues and problems.
-Maintain and keep up to date a variety of logbooks and written records
-Give support and assistance to chaplains and help support activities of a religious nature.

Training for Enlisted Navy personnel jobs is both formal schooling, and also on the job training. If you have excellent people skills and are interested in working in a business office environment this may be the job for you.  You should have a working familiarity with written documents, such as records, reports, logs, logbooks, and other written documentation.  The administrative and personnel area gives a person excellent skills and often provides office management type experiences.

Working as an administrative or personnel enlisted person gives person skills that can be used in the civilian world in a number of different ways.  Your training and skills will lead to possible careers in legal assistance, computer operations, clerical office positions, office management, administrative and supervisory jobs, and also positions in church and religious facility support staff.
