Same as Civilian life not everyone is cut out to be a Doctor or a Plumber but many try....But the Marine Corps may give you a chance to be successful in another area depending on your attitude and whether you tried to just skate through or worked very hard..If you worked very hard, then you may have nothing to regret...Next comes the real part of being a "Team Member" when you reach your first assignement once you passed your MOS School. Never think you can now slack off and think you have learned everything you have just learned the Basics,,that is why it is called "Basic Training"..Listen carefully to your Senior NCO's and always work to the highest of your abilities and never stop learning and you will be successful..I had a Placard on my Desk which read "I have never heard of a dumb question!" If you are ever unsure of anything or not clear on an order or what is expected of you...Ask! Yes in some quarters this can mean a dressing down, but you will always remember what you are told after a dressing down, and that is the goal to help you remember and keep it in your brain...That is the advice I received from my Family... When you are part of these marines you are nothing but a puppet , if you do come back u will most likely have an injury, but people dont notice that the goverment dosent help people with these injuries they only pay with what you have served which is not that much.
