GovArm Travel Cooperative Service

GovArm Travel Cooperative ServiceWith our nation giving so bravely in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, people involved with our brave troops began to notice a trend.  Travel for off duty and leisure need of our Servicemember was often not receiving much attention or support, and because of this the individual military service member was often suffering from long delays, expensive travel beyond normal and reasonable levels, and a general confusion and lack of services.  Because of this, both travel industry and military professionals joined together to form Government and Armed Forces Travel Co-op. This group decided that other groups such as commercial carriers and the government has personnel and resources dedicated to official military travel, but not to the off duty and recreational needs of our Servicemembers.

It didn’t help that the leisure and off duty military travel marketplace is scattered all around the world.  Much of this market tends to be season, special or regional, and it was an area that was not being serviced.  The Cooperative, or GovArm for short, provides services and personnel to help fill that gap between traditional services and official military travel.  You can often obtain a wonderful vacation or travel opportunity at a reasonable price by receiving assistance from GovArm.  Gov Arm provides military and government personnel with vacation, off duty, and leisure travel and accommodation services.  Services include vacation packages, vehicle rental aid, house and condominium rentals, cruises, and discounts on everything from Golf, entertainment, and lodging and hotels.

You are an eligible person to participate in GovArm programs if you are:
-A civilian DoD Employee.
-American Red Cross members serving overseas with the U.S. Military.
-An honorably discharge American Services Veteran.
-A foreign exchange service member permanently assigned to the DoD.
-A Servicemember (Retired or Active) of any of the Five U.S. Uniformed Services.
-Active or Inactive Reservists of the U.S. Uniformed Services.
-An Adult Dependent of any of these Groups.
-A Federal, State, or Municipal agency employee (retired or active).

This program is very beneficial to most veterans, and can be used for substantial saving on travel, vacation accommodations, and vacation packages.  It is another program that has been started by American citizens and military personnel to assist and support our Servicemembers around the world.  Their efforts make life just a little easier for our Vets, and our active duty Servicemembers.  Accessing these services is possible from any computer; their web address is www.GovArm.com.
