While many people might want to become a Navy SEAL, few actually get this honor because of the elite status of the station. But there are many reasons a person might want to become a SEAL.

1. After the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, the first soldier to arrive in Afghanistan was a Navy SEAL. They completed over 75 special reconnaissance missions and direct action missions. Because Navy SEALS can be called upon to detonate and dispose of explosives safely, they helped in this arena and led the way by destroyed over half a million pounds of weapons and explosives in the area. Navy SEALS are an integral part of the operation, as well as every other military operation.

2. Navy SEALS are on the cutting edge of military technology and operations. If there’s a new tactic, operation, or piece of equipment, chances are there’s a Navy SEAL nearby making it all come together.
