3 Reasons Not to Join the Military

There are many great reasons to look at military careers. Military jobs are some of the best in the world, and you can get an excellent education while in the military, not to mention the things like resourcefulness, self-sufficiency and teamwork that you learn by being part of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or National Guard.


But some people have a poor idea of what it really means to join the military.


1. If you think that the military is something to join if you’re strong and feel like bullying others, you have the wrong idea.


2. If you think the military is a great place to not have to think hard while you sit around flexing your muscles and firing weapons, you need to do some research. While soldiers are tough and strong, they’re also intelligent, highly trained and able to adapt to changing situations rapidly.

3. If you think the military is a place to go to get a great education while just getting by doing an easy job, it’s not the place for you. You will get a top notch education in the military, but you’ll be trained and skilled, and you’ll contribute to the smooth operation of your team.
