If you’re a man 28 years old or younger, you have great vision, and you’re interested in the Navy or the Marines, you may be a good candidate for Navy Seal training. Your vision has to be great because eyesight is the primary way Seals spot targets, see where their teammates are, and keep track of where the enemy is at all times. Many men have been disappointed as they’ve been turned down based on their eyesight alone.
Why can no one over age 28 attempt to be a Seal? That rule isn’t saying that men 29 or older can’t be excellent soldiers or can’t be as fit as a younger man. But the intense situations faced just during Seal training can be hazardous, and it’s best to recruit only younger men in top physical condition. Most people enlist in the military long before age 28, as well. So those who really want to qualify for Seal training would have acted on the dream long before that age.

Age, eyesight and the desire to be a Seal aren’t all that’s needed, though. You have to be able to make it through the training, which is the most difficult and harrowing military training in the United States.
