Military High Schools are excellent, co-educational institutions which offer comprehensive, civilian-style high school education, with renowned, military-style professionalism, discipline and training.
Today, military high schools are run throughout the US, making access convenient for civilian students from the particular state where they are located. An appreciable number of students are also from other states, as well as from other countries.
Which Military High School?
Good question. Although many military high schools are not associated with any particular branch of the US Military, there are many that are. What this means, is that you can either, choose to join a school that’s not military branch-specific, or one that is. However, whichever way you go, you will NOT be obligated to join a specific branch of the military after you graduate.
Choosing the ideal military high school has also been made easy. Today, most schools maintain records of the number of students enrolled; the number of those who graduated; the number that moved on to join specific military branches; and even the number of those who went on to join other (civilian) colleges for higher learning.
What Do Such Schools Teach?
Everything students need to know. Military high schools teach students a diverse number of subjects, e.g. arts, science, mathematics, and more. However, schools that are associated with any military branch also include military-oriented subjects which are relevant to that branch.
Are The Schools’ Faculties Any Good?
Yes, they couldn’t be better. All military high schools are staffed by people with exceptionally high qualifications. In schools associated with a particular military branch, the instructors are just as qualified, many of them seasoned, military veterans with decades of experience.
Are There Colleges On Campus?
Yes, there are. Most military high schools have on-campus colleges, specifically for post-school graduates who wish to pursue specific military careers.
What’s Life Like In Military School?
As good as it gets. Life in military high schools is, more or less, similar to their civilian counterparts, EXCEPT that students wear uniforms; are referred to as “cadets”; acquire ranks; have senior students appointed as “leaders”; and take part in drills and parades. Military high school students also have the opportunity to join on-campus clubs where they can take part in drama, sports, and other recreational activities.
