27nw.deploy1When you join the Marine Corps Reserve, you will receive the same training as active duty Soldiers. However, you can do this one weekend a month and two additional weeks a year while continuing your life in the civilian world.

To join the Marine Corps Reserve, an individual must be between 18 and 28 years old. You may enlist at the age of 17 with parental consent and most Marines must have a high school diploma. With a GED and a high score on the ASVAB test, a small percentage of these enlistees are allowed to join each year. Other physical and moral requirements apply.

All Marine Corps Members must complete the 12 weeks of basic training at either Parris Island, South Carolina, or San Diego, California. Training is intense, both mentally and physically. Through this training, you will also learn about the core Marine Corps values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.

You are just a click away from more information about joining the United States Marine Corps Reserve..

Once basic training is complete, you will begin to train in one of the several careers that the US Marine Corps has to offer. The Marine Corps Reserve also offers many of the same great benefits offered to Active Duty Marines. Your career with the Marines is secondary to the fact that you will become and always be a Marine.
