The training school is for eighteen weeks, and involves on the job and classroom training.  Skills taught include: Military symbols, preparing intelligence reports, critical thinking, preparing charts and maps, and using computer software and hardware in development and analysis of data. If you are a person that can work well as part of a team, and has interests in charts, maps, and studying information then this may be the job for you.  As you advance in rank, senior intelligence analysts are responsible for branch offices and supervision of junior intelligence staff.  As an intelligence analyst you will work closely with leaders and combat commanders, and be in the thick of planning and operations.   You should have normal color vision and normal hearing. A person who is organized and detail oriented will do well in the Intelligence Analyst field. As a candidate it is important to be able to think clearly and express yourself in written form in a clear and concise way. As an intelligence analyst you will have the opportunity to be involved in plans, briefings, and writing special intelligence reports.  You may have opportunities to conduct interviews and then compile the information into a written report.
