Since 1775 – the year the USMC (United States Marine Corps) was established – the Marines have proved, in more major battles and wars than one, that they are different, defiant, and deadly. As result of their long and distinguished military history, Marines are acknowledged around the world as a formidable, skilled and highly motivated fighting force, something enemy combatants they’ve faced will admit without hesitation or reservation.
So, what makes these men of steel called “Marines” different? What makes them so defiant and deadly in battle? Well, here’s a little food for thought.
Torturous Training
Marines aren’t made in a day. It takes 12 weeks of near-brutal and often torturous, training at boot camp to come close to becoming one.
That’s becomes those who survive boot camp, still face “The Crucible” – an additional 54-hour challenging exercise, during which they are called upon to demonstrate everything learnt during basic training, and this will include taking part in a pseudo-realistic, combat environment. Recruits, who pass The Crucible, are then formally inducted into the USMC as full-fledged “Marines” during a ceremony on graduation day called “Emblem Ceremony”.
Cutting-edge Weaponry
As Marines are the first units of all ground forces to be called up during war, the US Military provides them with cutting edge weaponry, high-tech communications systems, ultra-fast air, ground and sea transportation vehicles, and more. This not only gives Marines the edge over enemy combatants, it helps to respond swiftly, either offensively or defensively, with deadly force.
First On The War Front
Marine are always the very first combat troops to be deployed in times of war. It is of no concern to them WHERE hostilities break out. Whether a war theater has conditions that require Marines to – fight through dense jungle; trudge through swamps, swim across rivers; climb hills; scale snowy mountains; or march through deserts … the Marines have been highly trained to fight fast, hard, defiantly, and with deadly force, however harsh or dangerous the climatic conditions or combat environment. This is why Marines pride themselves as being distinctly different, defiant and deadly.
Multiple Combat Roles
Marines play a variety of challenging and rewarding ground combat roles that YOU could also train for. These roles translate into lucrative jobs that come with great pay and benefits. The roles include (but are not confined to) – artillery; amphibian assault; combat engineering; infantry, intelligence; reconnaissance, tanks; and more.
