Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring our military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it is usually observed annually on November 11. This U.S. holiday stretches back to the end of World War I, which first celebrated the nation’s thousands of combat veterans who fought in the service of their country.

Other countries also celebrate this as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day on November 11, marking the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.
On this day, let’s not forget to honor our veterans, home or away.
