Teamwork Stressed In Joint Exercises

Teamwork Stressed In Joint ExercisesCoalition Forces Work With CLC Citizens And Iraqi Troops
Baghdad, Iraq

Teamwork is a process that is often discussed, but in reality something that is sometimes hard to come by. But when two different and totally separate military forces come together, then teamwork of this kind is truly something to behold.

Soldiers with the 10th Mountain Division have demonstrated the ability to work effectively as a team with their Iraqi partners and counterparts.  Members of the local Iraqi citizens, the CLC Iraqi groups, The Iraqi Security Forces, and others are working together in tight cohesion with the Coalitions soldiers in the 10th Mountain division.

Captain Craig Johnson is Company C Commander.  Company C is part of 4th Brigades 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Regiment.  Working with each of these highly individual groups is the main key to the success that they have had as a team protecting the Doura. “We are really pleased with the CLC Citizens especially, they contribute information and intelligence every day to us. We have not had a neighborhood incident now in nearly ninety days.” Said Captain Johnson.  “The local Shurta, or Iraqi Police have also been superior assets in the fight against terror,” added Captain Johnson.

Shurta is the Arabic word for Police. “We have excellent INP Shurta’s policing the area, and we are able to work well with them,” said Captain Johnson.

A member of the local Concerned Local Citizens, Kareem Muhammed also spoke in support of the team concept. “Now you can observe our children playing in the street again, our shops are beginning to open up again,” said Muhammed.  “Its very good to see,” added Muhammed.
