The US Military Needs Men of Steel

Tired of having Superman or other super hero fantasies? The Navy needs men of steel. Steel workers and sheet metal workers provide the Navy, National Guard and other US Military branches with the planes, trains and automobiles that keep the Military functioning. The workers must cut, shape and weld the sheets of metal to form the shells for planes, helicopters, jets, tanks, submarines and ships.

Becoming a Military Superman

Sheet metal workers for the Military are required to complete 51 days of specialized training after the basic 9 weeks of military boot camp. The 51 additional days of training are conducted at a special institution where trainees learn all the details of building Navy and Military machinery, vehicles and building up to the standards that the Military expects. Before all this training takes place, the potential men and women of steel must complete ASVAB testing to fit into the 51 day A-school specialized training.

Click here to find out more about and sign up for ASVAB testing.

Becoming Clark Kent after Military Service

After a mandatory 60 months of Military service as the men and women of steel, sheet metal workers may continue to serve tours of duty on land and sea until they reach retirement age. Upon retirement, the Navy Supermen and women must retire back to civilian lives. The 60 months of US Military service will help returning veterans find jobs at steel and metal factories, often times as higher paid supervisors.
