Nothing is more important to a soldier or sailor in the U.S. Military than his or her sight. Less than perfect sight can hamper the serviceman’s ability to adequately defend our country, and can ultimately place his or her career in jeopardy. That’s why qualified and experienced optometrists are vital to the Navy and National Guard. Want to find out of you qualify to become one of them?  Click here.

Optometrists-Serving Your Country By Improving the Vision of Others

Your job as a military optometrist will be to improve vision through developing routine eye care practices for soldiers and provide services such as prescription glasses, contact lenses and corrective surgery.

If you have a degree in optometry, great!  You can begin your hands-on training immediately. If you don’t, you can receive all the training and education you need after you enlist. No matter where you are in your professional or educational career, the military can help you realize your dreams or advance your career by providing scholarships, tuition reimbursement and continuing education programs aimed at providing you with the best possible education for free.
