Keep the US Navy a step ahead by protecting the feet of service members with a career as a Navy podiatrist. Podiatrists for the US Military treat conditions of the feet and ankles on Sailors and Marines of the Navy, Marine Corps and National Guard. Podiatrists will examine, diagnose and treat foot and ankle ailments and conditions by administering topical medications or performing invasive surgeries. Podiatrists even work with therapists and patients to rehabilitate soldiers and sailors who have lost lower extremities in combat.

Qualifications for Navy Podiatrists

In additional to the basic qualification for Navy medical professionals, US Navy podiatrists must have a doctorate degree in podiatric medicine from an accredited college of podiatric medicine. Candidates for this officer service member position must also hold an up to date license in one of the 50 states or D.C. In addition to these educational training requirements, podiatrists for the Navy must complete a surgical residency or surgical training program.
