The United States Air Force has many different things which are absolutely necessary. One of the most important things for any air base is the airfield. This is where the aircraft take off and land every day. When it is compromised, it is impossible for the aircraft to be able to safely take off and land. This can cause a major disruption in the operation of the US Air Force. This is why the job of the Airfield Management Apprentice is so important.
Walking the Airfield
One of the most important aspects of your job will be to physically inspect the airfield to make sure there is nothing which will pose a threat to aircraft trying to take off and land. You will look not only for threats which are placed there on purpose by humans such as bombs. You will also be looking for anything which will deteriorate the condition of the tarmac including cracks and gravel. You will then be responsible for either making the necessary repairs or calling in those who can make the changes.

Static Position
One of the great benefits you will enjoy in your position is that you will not have to move around regularly as a part of your career.
