Diversity is an Order in the US Coast Guard

Throughout the history of the United States Coast Guard, there have been many advancements in the way that the personnel have been chosen and trained. The point has always been to get the best recruit to the job and train them well. Recently the US Coast Guard has noticed that they need more diversity. This has led to a directive which has called upon the men and women of the US Coast Guard to promote even more diversity.

There is also a need to make sure that the people who the US Coast Guard deals with be made to feel as if they are not being singled out in any way. Where More Diversity is Needed



While there has been a steady increase in the enlisted personnel of people which represent a minority, there is still a long way to go. Yes, the enlisted personnel ratio is up to 50% for those who are of a minority. The part which is the problem is when you get to the level of O-5 or above, the numbers of minorities drops to 9%.
