The aircraft used by the United States Navy are among the most technologically advanced in the world. It is because these are so advanced that it is necessary that all of the equipment is able to be maintained by those who know what they are doing. This is why the job of those working as an aviation electronics technician is such an important one in the US Navy.

What You Will Do for the Navy

Whenever you are working in this rating, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the electronics which are involved with the aviation vehicles used in the Navy. You will need to be able to work on the electrical systems which run the weapons systems as well as working on the different circuit boards which govern the different systems in the aircraft. Along with regular maintenance, you will also need to be able to troubleshoot problems.

Get Military Training

You will have to go through at least 51 days of training after basic training. You will learn in the Common Basics Electronic Course at Pensacola, FL. You may have to go through an additional 46 to 103 days of training at Pensacola, FL so that you will be able to learn everything that you will need to know so that you will be able to advance in this rating. You will also have to attain a secret security clearance level.

The reason I am commenting is the fact that I’m unsure where i would do best with the skills I have obtained. As of right now I have about two years of Automotive Technology schooling and four years experience with automobiles. I would like to put my skills to use where ever I am placed. Thanks you.
