Mother send silly string to US Military Son Sometimes, however, the silliest of things can be sent in a care package. In this case, it was 80,000 bottle of silly string. Silly string, the aerosol foam that is stored in a can, can be used by soldiers to detect any trip wires that are left on bombs. Once the silly string is sprayed, it can set off the bomb, or trip it to where it will not deploy. This is especially important as the soldiers can be a great distance away from their desired target, without having to worry if they will endanger themselves. Marcelle Shriver, the serviceman’s mother, already had all of the cans that she needed neatly packaged and ready to ship out to the military members. The only problem was finding a company that would work on the sending these items on a boat free of charge. Since aerosol cans can’t be sent by an airplane, due to the extreme amount of pressure in the atmosphere, the cans would inevitably rupture. It was not until this week that Capacity, LLC, out of New Jersey, had decided to assist Marcelle Shriver and have the bottles shipped overseas, free of charge. Marcelle Shriver is quoted to having said that she was so excited, and was happy to finally see the bottles of Silly String being sent to the troops. It is sure that the soldiers will also appreciate Shriver’s actions, as it is sure to save the lives of many.
