Water Plant Supports Camp Liberty Troops

Water Plant Supports Camp Liberty TroopsOasis International Plant Supplies Coalition Soldiers

One of the benefits to the local Iraqi Economy has been the support of Coalition Soldiers in making business and industry improve up to world-class standards. Using funds from the United States, and military expertise from Coalition Soldiers, the water treatment plant at Camp Liberty was upgraded, improved, and now is running at full capacity.

Camp Liberty Oasis International Bottled water now supplies over 180 different customers, and it is the main source of bottled drinking water for Coalition Troops in the region. The plant is running at full capacity now, and every day it produces around 420,000 bottles of bottled water.

The water comes from Camp Liberty Lake Z, and it is processed in strict compliance with United States water quality and health standards. This is a big change from the way it use to be, and a vast improvement overall.

Before the water can be bottled it has to pass through a number of steps. It is pumped into a machine and then treated with chlorine to kill any living organisms or bacteria. Then it moves into an area and undergoes a process called reverse osmosis, where it is filtered and cleaned, and any further impurities are removed.

Then it is infused with ozone in a tank, which removes any further impurities and removes any odor that the water may have. What is left behind after the ozone is allowed to dissipate is pure, clean drinking water.

The water and the drinking bottles that it is put into are both made at the Camp Liberty plant.
