Choosing Your Educational Path

Choosing Your Educational PathThe idea of getting an education is something that can seem overwhelming. It does not have to be overwhelming, but it is important to get a start on it. Looking into enlisting in the Armed Forces is the best time to also make some decisions about your Educational path. You have to sit down, and put down on paper: Where do you want to be in five years? Where do you want to be in ten years? What is the ultimate goal or activity that you want to be working in for your life? This may seem like a simple idea, but many people just have not taken the time to do this, and because of this they never get past the first steps. You have to know what you want to do. There are so many decisions, but it helps if you know what you want to be doing down the road. If you have a goal in site, a career path or an idea of what you like to do, then you can begin to work toward accomplishment of that goal. Speed Kills- You should be aware that each person is different. You can accomplish the greatest amount toward reaching your goals if you know where you want to be, and then break it down into steps. Then you can start to set smaller goals to accomplish those steps. Some people reach their goals swiftly; others take part in a more gradual process. Find a tempo, and a speed of getting things done that works for you, and then stick to it. You should not be afraid to challenge yourself, but at the same time realize that the speed that works best for you may be faster or slower than another person in your situation. Stay on Target- Make sure that you get in the habit of writing down your goals, this way you can track how you are doing in accomplishing what you want to get done. It is not always necessary to write all of your goals down, but you should list down on paper your major goals, so to keep on task and moving ahead. It’s a lot easier to accomplish things if you have someone else working as a team on similar goals, and it’s a lot more fun too.
