This award, which was given in the amount of $11.3 million dollars, was a gift to the center for the advancement of their trauma study research. More importantly, the research that will be conducted will be aimed towards US Army soldiers for resuscitation, life threatening injuries, and for the mobile monitoring of those that have been injured in combat.
All of these factors play an important role in the US military, and the Army is pleased to provide the funds for additional research and immobilization of the program. Doctors that work at the UT Health Science Center will agree that the funds are beneficial as they will go to fund the soldiers that are in need of the assistance the most. In addition to the funds being delivered to the trauma center at the UT Health Science Center, doctors at the center are also working in conjunction with trauma physicians at the Brooke Army Medical Center, one of the nation’s leading hospitals for military trauma care. Both of these services combined are sure to be beneficial for all of the parties that are involved, and bring about the much needed trauma care to the battle fields and streets where our troops are located. Since there is a regulated amount of funding that is offered to the UT Health Science Center for its research, the funds that have been awarded from the US Army were warmly welcomed.
