Recently the civilian Iraq Minister of Electricity approached Coalition Military officials for some assistance in repairing them, and restoring them to full use.
Lieutenant Colonel Jack Marr is the commander of 1-15th Infantry Regiment, and he met personally with Iraqi officials to discuss possible repairs and how such a mission could be accomplished. After several meetings, the Ministry of Electricity agreed that they would provide money for security and labor, and that labor would be obtained by hiring local Iraqi Sons Of Iraq citizens.
Colonel Marr worked to coordinate the efforts, and will provide soldiers to assist in various technical roles including labor to fix the towers, and security for the project will be provided both by coalition troops and Iraqi forces.
