Captain Brown Gives Aid In The Field To 2nd SBCT Soldiers
To look at her you would perhaps get the wrong impression. Army Captain Jody Brown stands just 5 feet tall, and in her battle armor and helmet she almost looks like a child playing dress up.
But to think such would be a vast underestimation of this stalwart Army Nurse.
Captain Brown is assigned to the 25th Infantry Division, 2nd Styrker BCT, and she has been outside the wire in heavy combat several times, giving emergency aid to the soldiers in her unit, and providing support and medical attention to wounded and injured troops.
Many people who encounter her, with her jovial good nature and easy smile do so inside the wire, and mistakenly believe that she is naïve, and has not seen any action. But that would be a misconception, as Captain Brown has earned the respect of her fellow soldiers many times over in combat situations.
Recently Captain Brown had an opportunity to serve with other Coalition medical professionals in giving medical services and support to Batta Village.

“It is so exciting, I am hoping that we can help as many people as possible,” said Captain Brown. The opportunity to assist in the village of Batta was the first time she had been able to assist in humanitarian medical support. Her previous times outside the wire had been in direct support of her fellow soldiers.
This was the first combined medical effort that Captain Brown had been able to participate in.
