Marines Demonstrate Air Insertion TacticsJoint Coalition Troops Participate In Airborne Attack Training The Marine Corps has made use of aircraft for swift insertion and egress throughout the Iraqi conflict. Recently they took the opportunity to share their tactics and methods with members of the Iraqi 27th infantry Brigade. Soldiers from the Marine Medium Tilt Rotor Squadron 263 demonstrated aerial insertion and combat techniques in a joint operation near Al Anbar Province last week. The Iraqi soldiers were in awe of the advantages offered by being able to get to the battle swiftly, and quietly. Using the MV-22 aircraft assigned to their squadron, the Marine inserted with members of the Iraqi Army, into a remote location. The Iraqi soldiers were then tested on different combat techniques that they were being taught by the Marine Corps soldiers. “We enjoy the opportunity to show the Iraqi soldiers how things are done,” said Captain Jonathan Brandt. Captain Brandt is a MV-22 pilot, and one of the mission commanders for the joint forces mission. Are you interested in an exciting career in the Military? See if you qualify. Click Here Now! Using the Marine MV-22 Aircraft, the mission was able to insert Marine Corps and Iraqi Soldiers swiftly and quietly into a remote area that normally would not have been accessible in anything close to the same time frame. The soldiers from the Iraqi Unit were very impressed with the speed and ease that went into the operation. Helicopter borne operations and training will help the Iraqi Army deal with their own insurgent problem down the road, so teaching the Iraqi’s the correct skills is job one for these Marines.
