Enlisted Army Financial ManagementThe Army is the same as any business, the need for managers and people to pay the bills, and to manage financial matters is constant. The Army Financial Management specialist is the person that is key to making sure all of the financial affairs of the Army are properly taken care of. The duties of a Army Financial Specialist include: Auditing various accounting records, preparing payments and payroll for Army Servicemembers and military personnel, auditing other financial records, and disbursing checks, cash, bonds and advance pay.

As an Army Enlisted Financial Management Specialist you will work in a variety of environments, you could work literally anywhere that the U.S. Army serves. Other duties you will be responsible for include computing allowances and military payroll, recording the different details of financial transactions for Army business, and organizing and sharing information on past expenditures and expenses to help forecast and plan future Army budgets.

Training for an Army Financial Budget and Financial Management specialist begins with basic combat training for nine weeks where you will learn the basics of how the Army functions and operates. After Basic training, you will attend school for seven additional weeks where you will receive individual advanced training over a variety of topics. You will learn about different techniques in accounting, including how to compute deductions and military payroll, how to analyze and interpret different types of financial data, principals and procedures of accounting, and how to prepare budgets and reports and how to maintain and account for these types of budgets. You will be trained how to work on a number of financial systems, and how to operate a variety of electronic and computer systems.

You will learn how to work with budgets and numbers, and how to use electronic devices to compute and determine financial budgets. You will work in your specialty, but as you rise in rank you will gradually become responsible for supervising soldiers in other areas besides your own. If you have interest in working with numbers, work well under stress and have interest in working with office type machinery and computers, then this may be a job field well suited for you.

The job of Army Financial Management and Financial Budget specialist is one that requires high levels of accuracy, and it is a job that has a lot of responsibility. If you are a person who can remain calm in stressful situations, or if you have experience in dealing with financial budgets or financial issues, then this may be just the job for you.
