Indirect Attacks Result in Blazes In Basra and Baghdad
There has been a new curfew imposed in Basra and Baghdad to help with the skirmishes that have risen up lately.
Recent fighting in both cities has led to the curfew, and for the most part it appears to be helping. Even with the fires that have broken out from the fighting there are continued patrols to police the cities and the International zone.
The Expeditionary International Zone soldiers assess the damage directly following an attack and then respond with whatever is necessary. Sometimes it is to fight fires that have erupted as a result of the fighting, other times it involved triage and support of the wounded.
There have been more than 80 indirect fire attacks directed at the International zone since about March 22nd. “We have found it harder to do our normal direct law enforcement, we have been pressed back a bit but we continue to pursue the enemy,” said Captain Thomas Rains. Captain Rains is the JASG-C liaison to the Iraqi International zone police.

One of the newest changes for the positive in this series of attacks against the International zone is that now Citizens are willing to report suspicious and trouble people to coalition personnel. This is a far cry of difference than in the past activity in the International Zone.
