Jobs that demand additional skills or that is especially demanding often pay more. There are literally dozens of different types of special duty and hazard pay that are available for people who enlist in the Army. Special pay amounts range from $55 dollars a month to about $375 dollars additional a month. Types of special duty pay include Flight pay, Aircrew pay, Hardship duty pay, foreign language pay, and combat duty pay. In addition to pay there are allowances that an Army Soldier can qualify for. Allowances such as housing, food, clothing, and cost of living allowances are all allowances that every soldier gets in varying amounts depending on their circumstances. Other more sporadic allowances include family separation allowances, and moving and relocation allowances, these are given as the individual situation qualifies for them.
In addition there are additional ways to earn extra money. There are one-time special bonuses, called enlistment bonuses that you may qualify for. There are also special skills bonuses, bonuses for those who qualify for Officer Candidate School, and various educational and re enlistment bonuses that can occasionally be received by the Army Enlisted person.
