President Bush Names New Veteran Affairs Chief

President Bush Names New Veteran Affairs ChiefPresident Bush makes plans to announce a new veteran’s affairs chief, Dr. James Peake. He will be the head of the Department of Veteran Affairs, a department that has recently received grave concerns for the demeanor that they have handled veterans affairs in recent years. The new overhaul of the Veteran’s Affairs office is expected to be a highly anticipated turn for the better for the veterans that are in our country, as well as the services that the veteran’s affairs office can allow. Jim Nicholson, who was acting chief, retired earlier in the month, leaving the position vacant for the month of October. President Bush has been eager to fill the position, as it definitely needs to be filled in order to keep the operations for Veteran affairs in full swing.

President Bush will make the announcement on October 30, 2007, which will be of much needed relief to many veterans that take great care and pride in making sure that they are still thought of by their fellow Americans. As such, the program is also expected to take into full action once more, with new program services to follow, as well as a better awareness in the veterans that have so proudly and honorably served our country. While waiting for Dr. Peake to fill the position, Gordon Mansfield, the active deputy secretary, has temporarily filled in for secretary. He has conducted a job well done thus far, and has prepped the position just right for the movement of Dr. James Peake to take place.
