Caches Of Weapons And Suspected Insurgents Captured
A series of Coalition raids and joint operations yielded a successful result. Operation Estonia gave two separate caches of weapons, and led to the arrest of nearly twenty different suspected criminals in its two day run, March 29th and March 30th. The Joint Iraqi Forces and Coalition Forces operation was held in Hashmiyah and Hamza, and was the result of several days of planning and implementation.
“This was a joint operations to combat extremists and insurgents that had taken up station in the town of Hashmiyah and Hamza,†said Major Tony Campbell. Major Campbell is the deputy Team leader to 3rd Infantry, 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, and 31st Military Transition Team. This was a two-day operation that members of both coalition troops and Iraqi National forces participated in. Members of the Iraqi Army Emergency Response Team and members of the Iraqi National Police joined the 82nd Airborne, 73rd Cavalry Regiment and members of the 31st MiTT team in the series of raids.

“Our working of Operation Estonia was one of a series of raids in this region, and we are working to show the local citizens and criminals alike that the Iraqi Special Forces and Iraqi Army are both prepared to combat those that would violate the law,†said Major Campbell.
“This was a operation to build confidence among the population, as well as demonstrate to the criminals that their free ride is over,†said Major Campbell.
