Iraqi Security Forces Lead Coalition Soldiers To Huge Weapons Stash The situation near Operating Base Falcon took a positive turn, when citizens from the Sons of Iraq brought forward an informant. The informant spoke to members of the Iraqi Security forces, which went to investigate. A large cache of nearly three hundred pounds of explosives, along with 18 rockets, 20 rocket-launching stands, and various other ammunition and guns were found. A citizen approached a member of the Iraqi Security force standing guard at the entrance of Forward Operating Base Falcon with information. Forces from the Iraqi Security Force, along with members of 3rd Infantry, 4th BCT, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Battalion went back with the civilian to find the weapons cache. The rockets were being stored in an area that has previously been used for attacks against coalition forces and Iraqi civilians. It was a successful seizure from the standpoint of safety and security and helps point to the continued increase in trust and communication with the Iraqi Citizens of the area. Are you interested in an exciting career in the Military? See if you qualify. Click Here Now! The rockets were taken into Iraqi Security custody, and then released to an Army EOD team for destruction. All of the explosives and weapons were successfully destroyed. There have been several weapons caches turned over in the last six weeks to personnel and soldiers at Forward Operating Base Falcon. The stationing of soldiers at the FOB base, along with the success of Sons of Iraq in the area have led to much better communications overall and a better operating environment for coalition soldiers.
