Operation Marne Piledriver Succeeding

Capacity Building Mission Works Well In First Stage

In a joint mission, Operation Marne Piledriver is working well in the various areas in Iraq where the mission is being carried out. Multi national coalition forces are working with Iraqi Security Forces to build capacity and response ability.

Operation Marne Piledriver is being conducted in the 101st Airborne, 3rd BCT operational area. While much of the operation is being conducted with the main Iraqi Security forces, the coalition is on scene to provide backup, support and assistance.

Another Patrol Base is being constructed. Patrol Base Yates will house coalition and Iraqi soldiers in Bayji Iraq. The patrol base was named for an American hero, Corporal Nyle Bates who lost his life in 2006 at that location.

The Operation Piledriver is not only about building and displaying capacity, but also about setting up a joint security station located at the village of Yusifiyah, creating a Iraqi run set of radio stations, and other projects.
