Financial Paymaster Army Careers

Work in the Army as a financial paymaster is rewarding, you are able to work with groups of people to make sure that the tracking financial and organizational goals of the Army are being met. The Financial specialist of the Army works on computation of payroll, auditing accounting records, preparing and auditing financial records, and preparing payments for Army personnel. The job specialty of Finance paymaster works on duties such as recording financial transactions on the correct accounting forms, disbursing checks, bonds, advance pay and cash, and organizing past expense information to help plan and lay out future budgets.

Training for a Finance Specialist Army Paymaster starts with Army Basic Combat training for 9 weeks where you study the concepts of being an enlisted Army person. After boot camp you will progress to 7 weeks of individual advanced training, where you will learn in the classroom and in simulated field conditions. You will receive training in deductions and pay concepts, maintenance of budgets financial reports and preparation of employee payroll, accounting procedures and principals, and analysis and statistics to help interpret data and financial information.

If you have an aptitude with numbers, and interest in mathematics accounting or statistics, or if you have experience as a bookkeeper then this may be a job title for you. Interest or aptitude with office machines or experience working with computers are also skills that will serve you in good stead in this position. This is a job position that required great detail orientation and accuracy. Senior Financial Paymaster finance specialists in the Army are responsible for supervising and training junior enlisted members within the same job specialty. You may also be assigned as a senior Financial Army Paymaster to run a personnel office or be responsible for a larger Army office for payroll.

There are many different jobs in the civilian work that having training as an Army financial specialist will enable you to work at. Different civilian jobs such as audit clerk, accountant or bookkeeper are a few of the many different positions that serving as an Army Financial Paymaster will enable you to work at. Having any sort of training in this specialized job field will allow you a leg up on garnering employment in the financial field after you are separated from the Army.
