Three Advantages To A Higher Education

Many people work very hard each week at their job, and they ask themselves: Why should I get an education? Three reasons exist that you can say to anyone that wants to know why they should get a college degree or a better education. Opportunity. Jobs. And Income. Each of these three reasons has a distinct advantage for people who have a higher education, or who have gone back and gotten a college degree.

Income- the average income for a person that has a high school diploma is slightly more than $28, 000 dollars a year. This is not bad, but it is not even close to what people who get more education qualify for. For those that go back and get their masters Degree, they can often earn much more, the national average is slightly more than $45,000 dollars each year if they have earned their masters degree. This is true also for people with bachelor degrees, but the masters is the true turning point for most people in job earnings.

Opportunity- One of the most sought after groups in the United States are those who are in the military, such as junior commissioned officers that have a master’s degree. Many people fail to realize the additional opportunities and income, much less the jobs that they would qualify for in getting their masters Degree.

There are many reasons that people select in choosing to not get their college degree. Some people say that it is too expensive. Some say that it costs a lot of money and it is too expensive.
But with the educational benefits that are available currently there is not any time in the history of the United States where it has been as easy to get a degree.

Jobs- Many jobs in the current technological age require that you have a higher education. Many jobs require that you have at least a bachelor’s degree, and some require that you earn or have a master’s degree. This is just the current reality, and if you have earned a higher education then you have an advantage in competing for jobs over those who don’t have a college degree. This can result in substantial lifelong advantages economically over those who do not have a degree.
