Local Citizens Benefit From Training Given Iraqi Vets
A group of Iraqi Veterinarians has been receiving training from Coalition doctors and Veterinarians in a series of seminar type training events. It is a cutting edge program that is teaching the Iraqi Vets the latest in state of the Art veterinary techniques. The Coalition veterinarians are being led by Dr. Bruce Williams, who is the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology Chairman. The vets from Iraq are all from South Baghdad, and were happy to be able to attend the one-day seminars.
Besides having the newest training, it is an opportunity for the Iraqi Vets to work with other animal doctors and improve their skills, and to visit and familiarize themselves with the latest in vet medicine. The Iraqi Vets are excited because they were not able to practice Vet medicine during the Saddam Hussein regime without fear. Now they are able to practice openly and assist animal and owners with their animal Care.

The landscape for Veterinarians in Iraq has improved greatly. Vets are able to visit farms and travel openly, and they are glad to be able to deal with animals and owners openly. Dr Saad Sahib is one of the Vet participants and he is glad that the Coalition is there to help train Iraqi Vets. The Iraqi students were eager to receive the training and had many questions after the seminar, and kept the trainers there long into the evening.
