Navy ROTC Educational Options

There are many roads to obtaining a college education, but if you are interested in service to your country and want a college degree at the same time, one of the options you may consider is the Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps. Becoming a Navy officer is a side benefit; the education that you receive by participating in Navy ROTC is not only academic, but also an education featuring many people interactive experiences. The Navel Reserve Officers Training Corps program was established in the early part of the last century to create a qualified pool of trained and educated young officers for the Marine Corps and Navy to draw upon. Those who complete their degree and graduate and who successfully complete the program are commissioned as an Ensign in the Navy, or as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. The programs is a win win for our country, it gives the services a supply of trained quality officers, while aiding young people in reaching their educational and personal goals.

A Navy ROTC Scholarship is like a full ride scholarship; it pays for full tuition, fees, books and other expenses and gives the scholarship recipient a small stipend each month for living expenses. It is an excellent method of paying for college if you do not have the means or financial resources to pay for your college education, and it is a way to positively support your country through your military commitment after your graduation as a commissioned officer.
