Coalition Soldiers Work To Conduct Medical Screenings
The village of Nangarhar was benefited recently by a medical clinic and screening conducted by Coalition forces. The troops worked with local leaders to offer a clinic and provide routine treatment to over 65 local citizens. There were 25 children treated in the clinic, which was held in the Kama District of Nangarhar province this last weekend.
The school facility at Mer Zert Kheyl village was host to the screening clinic, and the Afghan National Police provided security while the clinic was being held. Citizens that are suffering from various diseases including eye problems and digestive disorders were treated. There were a number of cases of colds and flu also given treatment, and overall the clinic was a rousing success. The citizens who attended were also given supplies including food and water, rice and milk after they were treated.

“The people who responded were grateful and very enthusiastic,†said one of the service members among the coalition soldiers. “The Afghanistan people have been a proud people despite almost 30 years of strife and war,†said the Coalition Soldier.
Coalition Soldiers worked to make sure that the citizens were able to reach the screening, and believe that there are many people treated in this current clinic that have not been able to access treatment before. There will be additional clinics that will be held throughout the summer and fall.
