Iraqi Regional Police Facility Begins Training
The newly constructed Iraqi Police Regional Center opening in Diyala Province on May 1st, to a fanfare of praise and pride from the local citizens and community leaders. The Police Regional center is a training center that was designed and built by Coalition forces to aid in the standardization and immediate training for police officers in the Diyala area and throughout the region. The facility is an example of equipment and weapons training cooperation from the Coalition, local Sheikhs, and the Iraqi Government both in its construction and its continued training programs.
“We are very grateful for the assistance that the Coalition forces have given us to build and equip this new training academy,” said Major General Ghamem Abbas Ibrahim Hassan Al Qarayshi. General Al Qarayshi is the Director and Provincial Diyala Chief of police. Materials were provided by the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior and will be continued to be available for the ongoing supply needs of the Police academy.

“What we have successfully established is direct cooperation between the Police of Iraq and the Ministry of the Interior for Iraq,” said Brigadier General James Boozer. “We are confident that under the leadership of Police Chief General Al Qarayshi that the program will succeed and prosper,” said General Boozer.
General Boozer is the deputy-commanding general for Multi National Division North.
