Yusifiyah Joint Security Station Broadcasts

Coalition And Iraqi Government Officials Support Radio Station

There are a lot of different signs of life as the security situation in Iraq begins to be calm and peaceful, including the start of different infrastructure like Radio Stations.

There is a new radio station in Yusifyah, located nearly 25 kilometers south of Baghdad, and it aired its first broadcast across the Nahia on May 15th. The station plays a variety of different music and genres during its broadcast day, as well as a number of messages from the ministry departments of the Iraqi Government.

“This is a station for the people of Yusufiyah and the whole area,” said Jamal Hussein, the manager of the Radio Station. “It is a station that was began and is supported by both our Iraqi Government and the Coalition, and we are glad to be here,” said Hussein.

The station is located in a small building in the Yusifiyah Joint Security Station and it was recently rebuilt and updated, complete with a fresh coat of paint, lights and even air conditioning. Then the broadcast equipment was added and station Yusifiyah was on the Air.

Captain Koski is the project manager for the Coalition Radio Station project, and team leader for Company A of the 411 Civil Affairs Battalion.
