New Father Meets His Seven Day Son Old Via Technology A robot that is normally used by the Army to perform work remotely was used by a new Father to view his son for the first time. The Father is stationed in Baghdad, and had not yet seen his newborn son in Texas. The video link provided by the robot allowed the father to see his 7 day old son, Blake, for the first time. The robot video link gave Army Staff Sgt Erik Lloyd the opportunity to see his son via video link from Baghdad to Texas. Sgt. Lloyd is stationed with the US Army Surgical Research Team, and is deployed with the Combat Casualty Research, 86th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad. While father Lloyd wore headphones and looked at a computer screen in Baghdad, his son, his wife and members of the Texas Army hospital facility gathered around at Brooke Army Medical Center to participate in the first meeting between son and father. “So, who is this that we have here?” said Sgt Lloyd as he sat looking at his son for the first time. Because of the excellent resolution on the high definition computer link, Sergeant Lloyd in Baghdad could see his son very clearly. “Well he should be potty trained and walking by the time I get home right?” joked Lloyd. Are you interested in an exciting career in the Military? See if you qualify. Click Here Now! Sergeant Lloyd is due to return home in Six months.
