Air Force Enlisted Helicopter Flight Jobs

Working in the Air force as an enlisted Flight Engineer is a challenging job. You can work as a pre flight inspection crewmember, or work on any number of different type of duties that an Air Force Enlisted Flight Engineer performs. When you work as a Flight engineer apprentice in the Air Force, you compute, compile and record data and various information, on aircraft weight, aircraft balance, and the aircraft weight. You will include takeoffs, cruises, and climbs, and you will keep flight logs and engineer records.

You will assist on engine shutdowns, monitor warm ups, engine stares, and various engine controls. You will be responsible for getting various flight operations and assistance to the other members of the flight crew, including the Pilot and navigator. As an Air Force enlisted helicopter engineer you will assist in overall aircraft pre flight and mission duties. You will be responsible for monitoring alarms and alerts, and indicators for overheating, fire, depressurization, system failures and other abnormal conditions. You will work to keep communications with the pilot as you complete various duties.

After completing boot camp you will go to your flight engineer technical school. You will learn how to operate systems as a helicopter flight engineer. You will work to learn both in the classroom, and in simulated field conditions. You will work to perform duties in mechanical and electrical areas, as well as different state of the art Air Force Aviation systems. You will perform flight maintenance and emergency flight procedures, and learn diagrams, schematics, and performance charts.

You will learn how to handled different emergency situations, and how to deal with flight situations, as well as how to perform different types of maintenance on different types of Army Aviation aircraft. During your technical school you will spend time in the field, and in the classroom, learning about pneumatic systems, mechanical and hydraulic systems, and their individual operations. If you have skills in navigation, communication, or other different related subjects it can be helpful to you in your technical school training. Working as a Air Force Enlisted Flight Engineer will prepare you for many civilian careers in the aviation field, after you serve in the military you will have various opportunities in private aviation companies. You will have service that will be highly sought by various civilian firms.
