Reconstruction Of Omah Moktar School Completed
Iraqi Citizens and Coalition forces are celebrating the completion of the new Girls School that was reconstructed in Mahmudiyah. The school had been in very poor shape, and the school was earmarked for high priority during a recent push for renewal and reconstruction. The school in the Moktar area went under construction for a little over 3 months, and now is available for about 600 students to use.
New Gates, new doors, new windows and glass in addition to a number of new furniture and furnishings have left the school largely a new facility. It has additional exterior improvements including an outer wall being raised. This higher wall will help with the security for the entire school
The School has been repaired, and the physical environment has been greatly improved. This is a project that shows what can happen when the residents of a community join with us to work together,†said 1st lieutenant Jason Potter.
Lieutenant Potter is the Project manager for the Moktar School for the 101st Airborne Airborne Division, 3rd BCT, 320th Field Artillery, 3rd Battalion. He has been involved in the project since its first inception, and he has been instrumental in helping see this school project get off the ground.

Students from the community welcomed the school opening with speeches, and songs, and to receive the positive wishes from the Coalition forces.
