There are a lot of different options for finding a way to pay for college education. There are methods that a person can use that are both in civilian funding, and in the military. Some of the funding that you obtain in the military, as an enlisted person or a veteran through the Montgomery GI bill duplicate or add to funds that you may be eligible for in the civilian world. Here are some ideas for both types of college education funding: Civilian Financial Aid- The first step is to fill out the Federal Financial Aid Form, you can fill it out online, and it is free. The College Board used to charge a fee, and an additional fee to send it to each college, but in the last couple of decades the cost for such a program has been made free. If you go online you can fill out financial aid paperwork that will take at the most a couple hours, but then you will be able to send the results of your financial aid report to each of the schools that you want to apply for. There are schools that offer scholarships but nearly all colleges, universities and schools in America deal with financial aid awards based on the person’s financial Aid report from the College Board. Military Financial Aid- There are a number of different types of financial aid for school if you are in the military, both for getting an education while you are on active duty, or after your active duty service. If you are trying to get an education in the military while on active duty, each of the five services have a variation of Tuition Assistance. This is a program available that pays for your tuition 100 percent, and some various other costs, these benefits for anything more than tuition are variable, and can change depending which service you are enlisted in. Find the Military Career right for YOU ! Click here for more Information. Montgomery GI Bill- You can use your Montgomery GI bill after you are done with active duty service, it is a method of getting benefits to attend school and pay for your education. You can increase your later GI bill educational benefits when you are in the active duty, by contributing more to your MGIB account. If you contribute an additional amount you can increase your benefits by up to $5,400 dollars.
