As Piledriver Ends Iraqi Projects Continues

Other Reconstruction Issues Continue With Operation Marne

The Operation Marne Piledriver began in the Spring of 2008, in April 15th with the clearing operations and Air Assault operations that were led for the first time by the Iraqi Army. The coalition has begun the process of withdrawing, but it is leaving the region in good hands. The Iraqi Army has built capacity and started assuming the security for the region. They have been taking giant steps forward with the training that they have been receiving and gaining in their ability to protect the region. The Pile Driver operation is the first major series of operations that has been done by the Iraqi Army, and they have worked to successfully reduce the amount of insurgency in the region.

Operation Pile Driver has worked to initiate a series of different operations that have been led by the Iraqi Army. They have worked to rebuild clinics and schools, and health clinics, at each step gaining in experience and leadership ability. The coalition has aided and supported each of the operations, and at times where needed they have stepped up and led different elements, but it has slowly been less and less, and this bodes well for the region and for the Iraq country at large.
