Iraqi Army And Coalition Troops Work In Rashid District
Forward Operating Base Falcon- Soldiers from the MNF 4th Infantry, 1st BCT met with leaders of the region of southern Baghdad to discuss the needs of different projects that are ongoing in the area of reconstructions. The Citizens of the Rashid district have a number of different projects involving rebuilding and reconstruction.
The leaders of the Rashid Beladiyas, and the Rashid Doura came together with Education Ministry officials to discuss and prioritize the construction and civil programs that would receive funds and assistance from the coalition and from the Iraqi government.
Officers from the Raider 1st Brigade helped out by presenting a briefing on how to improve future services and essential infrastructure. Rashid leaders spoke frankly about their needs to the local and national Iraqi civil leaders, and the coalition personnel.
The Iraqi leaders presented a list of projects they wanted to nominate for work, and then they were discussed at length. The Iraqi’s were united in some of the different projects, but others were supported by only one or two Iraqi leaders. During the meeting, close to 44 different projects were discussed and prioritized.

“The intent of this whole meeting was to get feedback and allow the Iraqi leaders to give input in what projects were the most important, and which ones could wait until later,†said Major Tom Clark.
Major Clark is the Chief of Coordination and Infrastructure element and 1st Special Troop Battalion 1st BCT operations Officer.
