Sons Of Iraq Graduate 300 Kirkuk Police

Former Members Of Citizen Group Pass Academy Training

After eight weeks of intensive training the first group of “Sons of Iraq” police officers graduated recently in Kirkuk. Nearly the entire class of police officers attending the academy for this class of police officers were from the citizen group.

The Sons of Iraq have made tremendous differences in many areas of Iraq, and the residents of the Hawijah district make up most of the Sons of Iraq new Iraqi police recruits. When the call went out for police recruits, nearly the entire group of Iraqi Sons of Iraq for that region stepped forward. Nearly all that applied were accepted, and they have built an excellent esprit de corps, there is a lot of pride and unit positive morale in this class of police recruits.

The new recruits will go directly to work in the Hawijah district, where they are from. This will also be a great advantage, many of the men from the community are now trained police officers, which will further add to the security for the region. The region has seen an 80 percent or more direct reduction in violence in the area since the Sons Of Iraq began to assist in security. Now that the Sons of Iraq have largely became the police in Hawijah, it is believed the low rate of violence will continue.
