Camp Taji Gives Combat Lifesaving Course

National Guard And Coalition Troops Learn New Skills Training is the key to all successful operations, making sure that personnel are properly able to deal with the unexpected. In Iraq, the difference between having proper training can mean the difference between life and death. The soldiers who attended the Camp Taji Combat lifesaving course received top of the line training that will assist them in giving battlefield emergency life saving assistance. The class was a 4-day event that covered basic lifesaving skills, as well as different emergency procedures that are unique to battlefield conditions. Soldiers learned how to administer and give an Intravenous needle correctly, how to conduct emergency medical triage, proper medical evacuations, and how and when to treat a multitude of combat injuries and wounds. The training is key to helping different soldiers step up when needed to keep each other alive when injured in battle. As such these soldiers have now been given the skills to cover each other’s back during harsh battlefield conditions.
