The surge was intended to assist Iraqi troops get control of their country, and for the most part it has been successful toward that end. Iraqi security Forces have acted in the last week to stop 3 different suicide bombers, and there was no one hurt in any of the three efforts. In each of the situations, the only people injured were the bombers, in two of the three cases the bomber was shot but survived.

Soldiers from the 101st Airborne have came behind Iraqi Patrols and been impressed with the overall security efforts.
