Haditha Progress Marked By Joint Effort

Government And Coalition Take Stock Of Rebuilding

The Iraqi Government has been working hard with the coalition US Marine Corps soldiers and members of the embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team. Together their efforts have been making a different in the heart of Haditha and the marketplace. The US Agency for development and these groups are working effectively together to embark together on different rebuilding projects.

The Marine Corps Regimental Combat Team 5 also is working closely with Iraqi and ePRT teams to tackle the many different rebuilding tasks in the region. There are many tasks ahead trying to rebuild different portions of the Haditha village. “We are working to try and do good things in the region, and we are pleased to see how well Haditha is doing,” said John Matel, the team ePRT leader for the region.

Many projects in the region in and around Al Anbar have been identified by the ePRT and USAID which as a portion of their duties are working to rebuild the region themselves. There are several projects underway, including the rebuilding of the technical school and the local clinic. Both projects are using Iraqi workmen working under direction of coalition and ePRT team members.
